Bahai Temple (Lotus Temple)

Bahai temple represents the Bahai faith which is broad in its outlook and it is also scientific in the influence it exerts on the hearts and minds of men. Bahai temple signifies the purity and the universality of the lord and equality of all religions. Four million people visited annually in this temple which is gleaming lotus- like marble structure is located on Bahapur Hills (South Delhi). Bahai Temple is the seventh and most recent Bahai houses of worship in the world. This is most important place for every tourist who comes to Delhi.

This structure is completed in 1986 which is a marvel of modern architecture. Set amidst pools and gardens, the view of the temple is very spectacular just before dusk when the temple is flood lit.

Anyone is free to visit the temple and pray or meditate silently according to their own religion. The temple is around 45 minutes drive from our Sargam Bed and Breakfast Guest House and same also from Domestic Airport.

 

Jama Masjid

Jama Masjid one of the largest mosques in India which is built by Shah Jahan in 1658 with seating capacity of more than 20,000 people at same time. The mosque is situated near the Red Fort in old Delhi. This is the area that still retains the traditional charm of markets in Mughal times.

This popular mosque built with bulbous domes and tapering minarets built with marble stand strong and beautiful even to this day. This mosque has three gateways, four angle towers and two 40 m. high minarets. You can even go to the top of minarets and have a bird's eye view of Delhi.

It is just 35 minutes drive from Bed and Breakfast Guest House and very near to Old Delhi and New Delhi railway station. You can also use metro train service to reach this place which is direct from our Sargam Bed and Breakfast Guest House.

Chattarpur Mandir

Chattarpur Mandir is located in south Delhi, beyond the Qutb Minar in Mehrauli. The temple dedicated to Goddess Durga which is built in South Indian style.

The temple complex is spread over a large area with beautiful lawns and gardens. Though devotees visit these temples throughout the year, the main attraction comes during the Navarathri festival, which is celebrates two times in a year, when devotees come from far and near. During this time, there are special bus services provided to the devotees and they come in large groups with their families and friends.

This is located in south Delhi extended area which is round about 30 k.m. or 50 minutes drive from Bed and Breakfast Guest House. tourist who comes to Sargam Bed and Breakfast Guest House have many option to reach this place like AC bus service, Taxi service, Cab service etc.

Nizam-ud-din Shrine

Nizam-ud-din Shrine one of the famous tomb on the name of sufi saint, Nizam-ud-din Auliya. Built on the way from Humayun's tomb the premise of the shrine is a tank, which is surrounded by many other tombs. It is said that there was an argument between the rulers of Tughlakabad and the saint over building this tank. The saint had said that the city of Tughlakabad will never prosper and so did it happen. The tomb has been through several renovations ever since it was built. The present mausoleum dates back to 1562. The complex of the shrine includes several other tombs, including that of the noted poet Mirza Ghalib (1786-1869), Amir Khusru and the grave of Jahanara, the daughter of Shah Jahan.

If you happen to be there at around sunset on Thursdays, don't miss out the extravagant performance of qawwali singers that takes place after the evening prayers. It is located in South Delhi, West of Mathura Road and very near to famous Hindu’s Chattarpur Mandir. This is also round about 30 k.m. or 50 minutes drive from Sargam Bed and Breakfast Guest House.

 

Bala Hanuman Temple

This elegant temple stands on the south-eastern side of Ranmal Lake. The 24-hour chanting of the mantra 'Sri Ram, Jai Ram, Jai Jai Ram', which has been going on in the temple since August 1, 1964, has earned a place in the Guinness Book of Records.

ISKCON Temple

ISKCON Temple built on a hilly place near to popular computer market and business place, Nehru Place. The ISKCON Temple is a different kind of Temple which is combination of complex of temples. Dedicated to Lord Krishna, this elegant temple is one of the largest temple complexes in India. It has a large number of Hare-Rama Hare-Krishna cult followers. This is just 25 minutes drive from Dwarka or Sargam Bed and Breakfast Guest House. You may also reach to this place with frequent bus service or cab service.

Akshardham Temple

The Swaminarayan Akshardham Temple is one of the biggest achievement and important place for Indian community which is situated on NH 24, Banks of River Yamuna, near Noida Mor, towards East Delhi. This temple is famous for its exquisite Architecture and Ornate Pillars. It is one of the biggest and most intricate religious places of worship ever constructed.

The Akshardham monument, built without steel, is entirely composed of sandstone and marble and it consists of 234 ornately carved pillars, 9 ornate domes, 20 quadrangled shikhars, a spectacular Gajendra Pith (plinth of stone elephants) and 20,000 murtis and statues of India's great sadhus, devotees, acharyas and divine personalities. The monument was built after over 300 million man hours of services rendered by 11,000 volunteers, sadhus and artisans.

The temple complex external wall is the only and largest, intricately carved structure with dimensions of 611ft x 31ft that is built in the last 800 years. The Akshardham parikrama (circumambulatory path) consists of 1,152 pillars, 145 windows and 154 samvaran shikhars; amounting to a total of 53,956 stones.

Tourist may avoid carrying leather goods, otherwise you have to leave those items at the gate, before entering the temple according to temple’s security policy. The temple is open from 9 am till 6 pm except Monday on an average basis. Entry into the Swaminarayan Akshardham Complex is free, but you have to shed a few rupees if you want to view the exhibitions, or want to go for a boat ride and 45 minutes movie which is featured on Swaminarayan.

Tourist may easily reach to this place from Sargam Bed and Breakfast Guest House by using direct Metro rail service from Dwarka to Laxmi Nagar metro station.
