FAMOUS NATIONAL PARK OR WILD LIFE SANCTUARIES NEAR TO DELHI

Bandhavgarh National Park

The Bandhavgarh National Park is located in the district of Sahdol in the state of Madhya Pradesh in India. The dense forest of Bandhavgarh National Park is nestled among the Vindhya hills. Once the hunting ground of the royal family of Rewa, Bandhavgarh Natioanal Park was declared a park in the year 1968. The entire area consists of Sal forests, which is the main tree of the areas along with Bamboo. In the year 1993, the Bandhavgarh National Park was finally declared a tiger reserve under Project Tiger. Bandhavgarh experiences climatic conditions that vary to opposite extremes. In the summers, the temperatures move to the other extreme and can go up to 46 degrees centigrade. Bandhavgarh has an average annual rainfall of 1200mm. The rains here give very little prior warning. It is spread in the area of 448 sq-km. Best Time to Visit to this national park is in the mid of November to June. Distance of Bandhavgarh national park from Delhi is round about 830 km by road.

Jim Corbett National Park

The Jim Corbett National Park is located at the foothills of the majestic Himalayas in the state of Uttranchal in India. This National was named in the honor of once a popular hunting ground of the British, Late Jim Corbett, the legendary hunter-naturalist turned author and photographer, who spent most of his years in this area and contributed in determining the park. The Corbett National Park inhabits a wide variety animals and birds. Jim Corbett is world renown for its wild population of Tigers, Leopards and Elephants. Corbett National Park was established in the year 1936, as the Hailey National Park. With the help of the World Wildlife Fund, Project Tiger was launched in Corbett National Park in the year 1973 and this park was one of the first such tiger reserves in the country with 585 bird species. This widely spread national park covered area of 1,200 sq-km and the best time to visit this park is from November to June. Ramnagar is the nearest town big town of this spot and it just 50 km away. Distance of Jim Corbett National Park from Sargam Bed and Breakfast Guest is near about 270 km. Tourist may go from Delhi to Ramnagar by train and then hire the taxi service or they can go directly by Volvo and other bus servces.

Rajaji National Park Uttaranchal

The Rajaji National Park is named after the first Indian Governor General of India and well-known freedom fighter, C. Rajagopalachari or Rajaji, as he was popularly known. The park was established in 1983 after amalgamating three wildlife sanctuaries, namely, Rajaji, Motichur, and Chilla in the southern foothills of the Himalayas. Today, the park boasts of the highest concentration of wild elephants in the entire Uttaranchal. It is just 235 km far from Dwarka, Bed and Breakfast Guest House by road and tourist may reach with in 4-5 hr through hiring their taxi service.

Ranthambore national park

Ranthambore national park is famous for its tigers and is one of the best places in the country to see these majestic predators in the wild. The tigers can be spotted quite often even during the day, at their normal pursuits - hunting and taking care of their young. Ranthambore has large numbers of sambar, chital and nilgai. Sounders of boar and an occasional gazelle the chinkara can be seen, as also the Indian hare, mongoose and monitor lizards. The lakes and pools at the Park are where the deer congregate and where it is easiest to see the animals. Among the other local fauna are the leopard, hyena, jackal, jungle cats, sloth bear and marsh crocodile. A view of the Jogi Mahal deciduous forests of the ancient Aravalli range, are excellent tiger country and Sariska, was once the royal reserve of the rulers of Alwar. Declared a sanctuary in 1955, it became a Tiger Reserve in 1979 under Project Tiger. Jacanas, painted stork, black stork, and white necked stork are seen along the water bodies. There are lake palaces, chhatris, old fortifications and a majestic thousand year old fort on a height overlooking the Park. The forest rest house at the foot of the Ranthambore fort is located in the lovely Jogi Mahal. It overlooks a tank - the pretty Padam Talao, afloat with water lilies. Good time to visit is between November and April when the nature of the dry deciduous forests makes sightings common. This park is just 145 km far from “Pink City” Jaipur and 450 km drive from Bed and Breakfast Guest House New Delhi.
